THESE RULES GO INTO EFFECT ON FEBRUARY 3, 2008

Tennessee “Couple of the Year” Visitation Plaque

1.  Any Chapter Couple of the Year wishing to challenge possession of this plaque shall have as a minimum their Chapter Couple of the Year and may take a larger delegation with them to attend the next meeting or Fun Day of the possessing Chapter. In case more than one Chapter challenges possession, the Chapter Couple of the Year and delegation that has traveled the most distance will be given possession of the plaque. Members that ride their motorcycles will be awarded double mileage. Determination of distances will be made by multiplying the total number challenging for the plaque x the miles traveled. Distance is determined by the most direct route from the Chapters meeting place to the event place of the Chapter that is in possession of the plaque.

2. In the event that both members of a Couple of the Year representing a challenging chapter are not present, then a single member of a Couple of the Year becomes eligible. However, in the event that both members of a Couple are present—they will always take priority over a Couple of the Year where only one member is present.

3. All members representing the challenging Chapter Couple of the Year and delegation must prove current membership in the Gold Wing Road Rider's Association, and the Chapter Couple of the Year must be on the TN-District MED list (available on the TN GWRRA website).

4. The plaque will be awarded at the beginning of the meeting/event.

5. Once a Chapter Couple of the Year has successfully challenged and taken possession of the plaque, the Chapter's MED or representative will immediately notify the District MED Coordinator so this information can be posted on the District Web site.

6. When the announcement of a successful challenge has been made, the plaque will then be available for challenge at the next meeting of the possessing Chapter.  This process will then begin again.

7. No Chapter Couple of the Year can re-gain possession of the plaque until it has been taken from the Chapter in which the said Chapter presented it to. (Example: If Chapter A has the plaque and Chapter B comes and takes possession, then Chapter A can not re-gain possession from Chapter B. They must wait until another Chapter has taken it.)

8. The plaque will circulate between February 2 and December 31, 2008.  The plaque will be awarded at the 2009 District Winter Event to the Chapter whose Couple of the Year out of the 2008 Class captured the plaque the most times.

Any questions regarding the Traveling Plaque Program should be directed to the Tennessee District M.E.D. Coordinators.
